The winner of the 2010 Master's winter league would gain a birth to the 2010 provincial championship being held in Ottawa August 13-15. Toronto HC were by far the best team from top to bottom throughout the season and playoffs.
Finishing with an 11-2-1 record, could this team be tested in the playoffs? D12 had the first chance to knock off this team but were denied. D12 played a defensive system to try to minimize the HC attack but scoring only 1 goal in the series would not get it done losing 4-0 and 3-1.
The HC would have to battle the Flames in the finals as they pulled a shocker in the SF with 3-1 victories against the Metro Devils. Did the Flames, having an up and down season, have it in them to knock off HC?
Both games in the final were very physical and entertaining. HC trailing game 1 after the first period would wake up and finally net the winner with 8 minutes remaining making the final 4-2. Game 2 HC came out firing netting two goals in the first 7 minutes, a hurdle too high for the Flames to jump. Final score Toronto HC 4 Flames 1. Robert Briggs was named Playoff MVP. Congratulations to team manager Dennis Dametto and the entire Toronto HC team and earning a birth to the 2010 Masters Provincial Championships.
